BRAZILIAN WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER TAKING A CORPSE INTO A BANK TO SIGN FOR A LOAN

Police officers responded to an unusual call from an employee at the bank branch in Bangu, in the western area of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil who was concerned on the wellbeing of a male pensioner who was described "very pale" and did not know if this was "illegal" whilst witnessing and  filming the pair in concern as the woman used her hand to keep the unresponsive pensioners head upright.  Upon arrival first responders and officers were met with the disturbing sight of the deceased man and the woman later identified as Erika de Souza Vieria Nunes, was arrested at the scene.

After being arrested, Ms nunes informed the police she was the niece and carer of the victim and was pictured laughing at the police station whilst the recording filmed by the bank employees began to circulate on social media, creating speculations and havoc online.

The victim Mr Braga was already deceased when he was wheeled into the bank as confirmed by police and that in fact Ms Nunes is indeed related to the victim. However, police officials are conducting an investigation to see if Ms Nunes acted alone or with accomplices amid suspicion that this could be an organised fraud. Local reports state that the loan allegedly was for 17,000 Brazilian Reais, which is estimated to £2,500. Police are also said to be investigating if the deceased pensioner was alive when the loan was arranged.
