Spotify has removed the shuffle button from Adele's album pages after Adele said that the order tracks were placed in are supposed to "tell a story".

After Spotify had removed the shuffle button, Adele personally thanked the music streaming company on Twitter. The official Spotify account responded in the following tweets.

The shuffle symbol of two intersecting arrows was removed from the album play button. It is still available when a user clicks to view the album tracks. For Spotify Premium users, the shuffle button is still available. However, for free Spotify users, the shuffle button has been removed.

Adele's comeback album, 30, was released on Friday. The album gained around 60.7 million streams globally on the first day of its release. Adele's first single from the album, Easy On Me, became the most streamed song in one day on Spotify and Amazon's Alexa device when it was released on 15th October.

The new album '30' is Adele's fourth studio album and tells the story of her feelings during the breakdown of her marriage and subsequent divorce from charity boss, Simon Konecki, who is the father of her son, Angelo. Her tracks have been praised for showing vulnerability.

Adele's previous album, 25, was released six years ago. It was only available as a direct download or in physical form such as a CD or on vinyl.
