Akon has announced that he's planning on building another city in Africa while his first is still in progress.For the past few years the singer has been busy building a city; or at least in the process of doing so in his native country of Senegal; for which he secured $6billion (£4.3bn) funding.
He is now moving on to build another one in Uganda.On Monday, April 5; the Ugandan government announced that they allocated one square mile of land to Akon for the city.
The amenities and cost of construction have not been disclosed, but the city; which will be completed by 2036 will operate on his AKoin cryptocurrency. When asked about the affordability and whether Ugandans will be able to afford the development, he said; "I know if I put it there, they're going to find a way to afford it because it's going to motivate them".
The rapper and entertainment mogul had previously announced plans to create a Wakanda-like city in his home country of Senegal. This past September, he announced that his company had begun to break ground on the construction of the $6 billion development project.
