England football star Bukayo Saka has gone above and beyond for those struggling in Turkey as he funds vital shelters for 26 families hit by the recent earthquake.
The devastating earthquake that hit both Turkey and Syria killed more than 50,000 people and over two million people were left homeless after the incident in February.
The Arsenal player has teamed up with charity, BigShoe, whose aim is to help children around the world overcome deep-seated problems. The organisation already have the backing of other star footballers, such as Antonio Rudiger, Paul Pogba and Mesut Ozil.
Saka previously worked with the charity last year to fund life-saving surgeries for 120 children in Nigeria and was reportedly eager to join the efforts to help the victims suffering from the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey.
The charity have already been producing and shipping expensive temporary accommodation for families who lost everything they know including their homes and belongings in the earthquakes.
The 21-year-old footballer said:
‘I’ve seen the devastating news on social media and on TV and I knew right away that I really want to help the people affected by this tragedy’.
‘To be able to give something back means a lot to me.’
