CBS Launches Internal Review On Sharon Osbourne's Comments On 'The Talk'

CBS initiated an independent inquiry arising from a fiery exchange of opinions between Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood regarding Piers Morgan and his comments on Meghan Markle on Wednesday's episode of The Talk, People reported.

"We are devoted to a dynamic, inclusive and respectful workplace," said the channel in a statement today. "All issues pertaining to the 'Talk' episode on Wednesday are presently under internal investigation."

On Wednesday's edition of "The Talk," Osbourne, 68, talked of someone being labelled racist after supporting Morgan's, 55, just after fire-storm of condemnation he received for remarks he made on his British morning show last Sunday night regarding Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. It was revealed that Morgan had left the ITV morning talk show since criticizing Markle and saying that he didn't even believe any of what she said was her psychological issues since he had married Prince Harry

"Did I like everything that he said? Did I agree with what he said to me? No," said Osbourne of Morgan's remarks about "The Talk." This isn't my view... I applaud him for his freedom of thought, and he's a friend of mine."Co-host Underwood, 57, hit back at Osbourne."What can you say to those people who might feel like when you're still standing by your friend, it seems that you've given a validation or safe place to something he's said is racist, even though you don't agree to it?"Osbourne then became emotional, telling Underwood to explain what the racist stuff Morgan said.

Underwood informs Osbourne that it's not the "exact words of racism, it was the implication and the reaction to it.""Not having to discuss it because she's a Black woman, and trying to ignore it or make it look less like what it is, that's what makes it racist," said Underwood. "But right now, I'm talking to a woman who I believe is a friend of mine, and I don't want someone here to watch this and think we're attacking you for being racist."Mrs Osbourne released a statement of regret for her remarks on Thursday night.

"After some thought, after sitting with your opinions and sitting with my heart, I'd like to respond to The Talk last Wednesday," she wrote on Instagram. "I've always been greeted with so much love and support from the black community, and I have deep respect and love for the black community."
