Sean 'Diddy' Combs has stepped down as the chairman of Revolt TV, following a string of sexual assault and abuse claims, which began with singer Cassie Ventura's civil suit nearly two weeks ago.
Revolt TV is a music-oriented television network co-founded by Diddy and Andy Schuon in October 2013, just over a decade before Diddy's sudden departure.
No further details have emerged about how the decision was made, or who will be filling Diddy's shoes, however, TMZ reported that Diddy made the decision to temporarily step down last week, despide denying the allegations.
It was also reported that a direct source cited Diddy's reasoning behind stepping down from the network was to ensure his controversies did not "distract" from Revolt's success.
Although Diddy was chairman of the company, he was not heavily involved with the "day-to-day", with the network being led by CEO Detavio Samuels and Chief Brand Officer Deon Graham.
As we reported, nearly two weeks ago, ex-partner and RnB singer, Cassie Ventura, filed a civil lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of sexual assault, physical abuse and human trafficking.
This suit was then hastily settled less than 24 hours later, with both parties releasing a statement on the matter.
Cassie said: "I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,
“I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Diddy said: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
Despite reaching a settlement, Combs' lawyer claimed this was not an admission of wrongdoing.
Diddy has since had two more sexual assault lawsuits filed against him, where he was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Joy Dickerson-Neal, a former Syracuse University college student in 1991 whilst filming the incident.
A Third lawsuit was then filed anonymously, accusing the rapper, along with singer-songwriter Aaron Hall, of taking it in turns to rape her and her friend in 1990 and 1991.
A representative of Diddy addressed the additional lawsuits, saying:
"The claims involving alleged misconduct against Mr. Combs from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute are all completely denied and rejected by him. He recognizes this as a money grab. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for accusers who will falsify the truth, without conscience or consequence, for financial benefit."
