DJ Tim Westwood is being accused of sexual misconduct in a new BBC three documentary airing 21:00 tonight.

The BBC and the Guardian heard detailed accounts of unwanted sexual behaviour and touching from seven black women who all say they met Westwood through his work.The DJ in regarded as one of the pioneers of hip-hop and in the UK and hosted the first nationally-broadcast rap show in the UK from 1994.Allegations about Tim Westwood's behaviour toward young black women has circulated through social media for several years. In 2020, Westwood issued a statement claiming he was the target of "fabricated allegations" which were false and without merit.Now and for the first time, women detail their experience with Tim Westwood.Some of the women accuse Westwood of abusing his power within the music industry as two recount travelling to London to discuss their musical aspirations with the professional.However, Westwood instead allegedly drove them to a flat an initiated unwanted and unexpected sex. Westwood was 53 and one of the girls was 19 at the time of the alleged incident.

Isabel described Westwood as the "main gatekeeper" to the part of the music industry she was aspiring toward and therefore approached him at her local nightclub when she was 19. Tim Westwood allegedly showed fake interest in her recorded music CD as a way to lure her to his flat the following day to facilitate unwanted sex.Pamela was invited by the DJ from the midlands to London to explore a work experience opportunity at his radio station when she was 20. Westwood allegedly began making advancement immediately, which she described as "traumatic" and "disgusting."Known at the time for giving a platform to new and upcoming artists, the women's story's all indicate purposeful abuse of status and power by Tim Westwood.Tamara, Farah, Claire, Nyla are four other women who detail their experience with the DJ in the upcoming documentary. There is a correlation in these women's stories in that several have recalled feeling "intimidated" and "humiliated" by Westwood.It is alleged that Westwood's influence and position allowed him to confidently manipulate young women for his benefit undetected.Tim Westwood wholly denies these allegations.
