Ex Tory MP Mr Imran Ahmad Khan has today been sentenced to serve 18 months in prison for sexually assaulting a boy aged 15 back in 2008.

The 48-year-old, who was a Tory MP until late 2019, was found guilty of sexually assaulting the teenager at a house in Staffordshire in 2008 back in April. Today, he was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison at Southwark crown court.

The victim, who is now 29, claimed he was left feeling "scared, vulnerable, numb, shocked and surprised" after Khan touched up his feet and legs, allegedly coming extremely close and within "a hair's breadth" of his privates, as he went to sleep on a top bunkbed.Khan, who denied the allegation of sexual assault, was jailed for 18 months at Southwark Crown Court today by judge Mr Justice Baker.

The judge said he has shown 'no remorse', and went on to say that "the only regret you feel is towards yourself for having found yourself in the predicament you face as a result of your actions some 14 years ago."Khan was said to have showed no emotion as he was taken down to his cell, carrying his possessions, which included a bag from an upmarket men's grooming shop.

The victim claims that he was 'not taken seriously' when he first made the allegation towards the Conservative party member, which was just days before he was elected as Wakefield's MP.The former MP, Mr Khan, who is gay and Muslim, wholly denied the sexual assault and claimed he only touched the Catholic boy's elbow as he "became extremely upset" after a conversation about his 'confused sexuality'.
