People have been stabbed after trying to fight a robber who had snatched a phone in the City of London

Three people have been taken to hospital after stabbing attacks in the City of London.A victim of a 'phone-snatch' was reportedly stabbed after trying to fight back. Other members of the public were also attacked when they tried to intervene. London Ambulance Service (LAS) stated that four people were treated by paramedics at the scene and three of them were taken to hospital. According to the BBC, parts ofBishopsgate has been cordoned off. The police have confirmed that the incident is being treated as a suspected robbery and not terror-related.

Taking to Twitter, the City of London Police wrote: "We received reports of three stabbings and a person pushed to the floor on Bishopsgate at 09:46 and officers arrived at the scene at 09:51."Sayeed Dukanwala, a witness and owner of BK News newsagent, told the BBC: "I was here in my shop working when I saw some guys running past my shop and shouting 'Oi oi oi'.

"After a few minutes I saw a fight break out over there and people running away.

"Then some people came in and told me there was a stabbing. They said there was a man and a lady on the floor, and there was blood."

Cities of London and Westminster MP, Nickie Aiken, tweeted: "I'm in contact with City Police for updates.

"My thoughts are with all those involved including the first responders."
