A grandma in Cardiff charges her family for Christmas dinner.Caroline Duddridge revealed that the adult members of her family pay £15, while her youngest grandchildren are charged $2.50. The 63-year-old said: "There's a few out there who think I'm a bit of a Scrooge but my friends think it's quite a good idea."Caroline decided to be charging her family after her husband died in 2015.
"I said to my children, 'right, it costs a lot of money, I'm going to do a little kitty jar so you can put £2 away starting in September'," she said.
"It sounds good, doesn't it? But of course it all got a bit shambolic, trying to keep track of them and there were a few stragglers."
The grandmother has since changed her family's payment method to bank transfer. Ahead of Christmas this year, Caroline received £15 from her two sons, £10 from her three daughters, over £5 from four grandchildren and £2.50 from her two three-year-old grandchildren. Caroline's sons receive the highest charges because they work full-time, unlike her daughters who work part-time and also have families.Speaking to 5 Live, she added: "If you don't pay by 1 December, you're not coming.
"Obviously there were a few moans and grumbles saying I've got a few children, but at the end of the day that's not my problem really, is it?"
