Kadian Nelson, who raped and kidnapped a young girl whilst being caught on camera, has sustained serious facial injuries whilst in prison and a photo has been released.

Kadian Nelson, 27, from Tooting, south London, followed a schoolgirl into an alleyway and attacked her in November 2020.

He grabbed the girl from behind, threatened to kill her, and carried out a sexual attack.

Nelson told the teenager to take her coat and school blazer off before raping her, just after 7 am that day.

Police were alerted when a woman called 999 saying her daughter had seen a man grab a young girl on North Place, Colliers Wood.

A family member of the woman then went out to check what had happened and managed to interrupt Nelson, who said the girl was his sister.

The victim managed to signal that she needed help and Nelson fled when police arrived, leaving her wearing his jacket.

Nelson pleaded guilty to kidnap, rape, and making a threat to kill At Kingston crown court; after the prosecution was able to present compelling evidence that made clear that it was Kadian Nelson who had carried out the attack. Among the evidence presented were video footage and DNA evidence from the lighter and tobacco pouch found inside Nelson's jacket pocket, which he left behind.

The girl also identified him at an ID parade. Nelson is currently facing a lengthy prison term.
