In a shocking incident that unfolded on the London Underground during an early morning commute, a man has been sentenced to nine years in prison with an additional five years on licence for committing a series of egregious offences, including rape and attempted rape.
37-year-old Ryan Johnston was sentenced at at the Inner London Crown Court last Friday following his conviction for the disturbing assault that took place in front of other passengers. Described as a "brazen attack" by authorities, Johnston's actions during the busy service not only included rape and attempted rape but also encompassed two counts of sexual assault. Additionally, he faced charges for outraging public decency concerning another complainant, marking a reprehensible pattern of behaviour.
The severity of the crime was emphasised by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), who highlighted the distressing nature of the incident and the impact it had on the victims and witnesses present during the ordeal.

Johnston sexually assaulted and then raped a 20-year-old - who was returning home from an evening out with friends - in front of other passengers.
A French national travelling with his 11-year-old son witnessed the attack and reported it to the police, however the attack was not captured on CCTV and officers were unable to identify the victim at the time of the attack, the BTP said.
