The man who was tackled to the ground following his attempt at the late Queen's coffin has been named 28-year-old Muhammad Khan.

Khan who was arrested on two counts under the Public Order Act, allegedly "did not believe she was dead."

The incident which occurred on the 16th of September saw the alleged rush toward the coffin and appear to grab the flag draped over the Queen's coffin.

Khan was said to have been amongst 250,000 people who went to pay their respects to the Queen's lying in state.

Prosecutor Luke Staton said: "The defendant had reached Westminster Hall. He was then seen by officers, who were present, to approach the coffin,"

Staton continued: "The defendant did express the idea that theQueenis not dead and that he approached the coffin because he wanted to check for himself,"

"He did say, prior to the state funeral, he was planning on going to the funeral.

"He planned to write to the royal family and if they did not reply he planned to go to Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace and Balmoral to try to speak to the Queen."

Staton described the defendant as "delusional" as he still believes the Queen is not dead and King Charles has something to do with it.

The judge has granted Khan bail on the condition he remains in an east London mental health hospital until his next appearance in court on October 18.

The incident footage shows Khan being tackled to the floor by security guards and police. He is then carried away from the resting place of the late monarch in Westminster Hall last evening.

The live stream which was displaying the Queen lying in state was paused around 10 pm yesterday (16/09) following the act.

When the stream began again, it showed that the Royal Standard flag had been moved due to the incident.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: "Around 10 pm on Friday, September 16, officers from the Met's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command detained a man in Westminster Hall following a disturbance.

"He was arrested for an offence under the Public Order Act and is currently in custody."

A witness of the incident, Tracy Holland said: "Some person decided they were going to push my [seven-year-old niece] out the way, run up to the coffin, lift the standard and try to do, I don't know what.

"She [the niece] was grabbed out the way and the police had him [the suspect] within two seconds."

Holland added: "Terrible, absolutely terrible, so disrespectful and unbelievable - and this poor little seven-year-old child, this is her lasting memory of the Queen."
