A man wielding a crossbow was shot dead by police in South London after reports he was attempting to forcefully enter a home.
According to the Met Police, armed officers were called to a residence in Surrey Quays, Southwark, just before 5 am. The call made to the police alleged the man, in his 30s, was threatening to harm the residents inside the property.
Two people are said to have suffered minor injuries, however, no other fatalities have been reported. Despite first aid efforts to resuscitate the target, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Met police are currently making efforts to locate and contact his family. A local resident within the area expressed his shock regarding the incident, saying: "It's fairly peaceful in this area. Nothing like this happens. It's shocking to see this sort of thing."
