Following her viral social media exposure of her boyfriend's alleged abuse, Harriet Robson has posted on Instagram for the first time expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support she received.

On Sunday, Robson posted a series of shocking photos, video, and audio alleging abuse from her footballer boyfriend Mason Greenwood.

Images of bleeding, beaten and bruised Robson were shared to her Instagram account, as well as a story post of an audio recording in which it appears that someone was forcibly demanding sex against her will.

Following the allegations, Greenwood was arrested that Sunday initially on suspicion of rape and sexual assault, but later also held on allegations of assault and threats to kill before posting bail on Wednesday.

In a message of appreciation shared to her followers on Instagram, Robson wrote; "I am grateful to everyone that has sent messages of support and encouragement - thank you".

"The last few days have been very difficult and I am taking a break from social media as the police make their investigation", she added.

Greenwood is yet to comment on the allegations against him.
