Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to receive a Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights award for their "courage" to stand up to racism within the royal institution.
A gala ceremony will be held on the 6th of December in New York. The couple is expected to attend the event and spots at their table are reportedly going on sale for up to $1 million (£841,000).
The couple who have long been on the faces of tabloid news stepped down from their royal roles following a series of allegations of racism within the palace.
It was then that Prince Harry and Meghan decided to move to the US in pursuit of peace, independence and quiet life.
What followed their major move was a 110-minute long interview with American Television host, Oprah Winfrey which saw the couple discuss their experiences in the Palace.
In one of the most shocking moments of the interview, Harry said that someone had expressed worry about what his children would look like.
They went on to talk about the repeated racial attacks by tabloids, and the Royal family's inability to speak out and defend them. The couple also believes that their son's race might have been a factor in the family's decision not to grant him a title or to provide security protection for him.
Even more shocking was Harry's revelation that his father wasn't picking up his calls since he took a step back from royal duties and was instead asking him to put his communications in writing. Harry revealed later that his father had started picking up his calls, he expressed that there was; a lot to work through there'.
Robert F. Kennedy's daughter has stated that Prince Harry and Meghan will be honoured for their "heroic" stand against the royal family's "structural racism."
Previous recipients of the prize include US President Joe Biden, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, as well as previous Democratic Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Al Gore.
