The Queen's coffin has left Balmoral castle and begun its journey down to London. Today, the funeral cortege will make its way to Edinburgh, through Aberdeen and Dundee.

The coffin will arrive in London on Tuesday, and the Queen will lie at Westminster Hall on the following day.Thousands of people have lined the route to pay their respects to the late monarch and many more will be waiting to say their goodbyes upon her arrival to London.An in depth breakdown of the journey today is as follows: Dundee at around 2pm, where it will go around the city on the Kingsway Perth, across the Friarton Bridge and down the M90 Queensferry Crossing towards Edinburgh. Enter Edinburgh from the west, skirt by Edinburgh Castle down the full length of the Royal Mile to the Palace of Holyroodhouse by about 4pm.

The coffin will rest in the Throne Room of Holyroodhouse to allow staff at the palace to pay their respectsOn Tuesday 13th September at 5pm, a hearse will take the coffin to Edinburgh airport arriving at 6pm. The Princess Royal will fly with the coffin for the 55-minute flight to RAF Northolt.On Wednesday at 2.22pm, it will be taken in procession by gun carriage from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster, with the King and other royals, as well as staff from the royal household walking behind it, and then at 3pm it will arrive at Westminster. Thursday will be a day for the funeral rehearsal and finally on Monday the funeral will take place.
