A man in his twenties, who was killed by the police in Streatham Hill, Lambeth, has been confirmed as rapper Madix
MOBO nominated rapper Madix has died after being shot by the police in a car chase in Streatham Hill, Lambeth.Madix, who's real name was Chris Kaba, was in his twenties and part of a drill group called 67.Lambeth police said the 'suspect's' vehicle was stopped after tactical contact at 9:51pm on Monday.A police firearm was also discharged and the male occupant of the vehicle sustained a gunshot injury.Officers gave the man first aid at the scene before he was taken to hospital.
The Met Police said in a statement: "At 9.51pm on Monday specialist firearms officers were in pursuit of a suspect vehicle in the Lambeth area."Police have not been able to confirm whether Mr Kaba was armed or not and they've not said why a firearm was used.They too have not revealed where the artist was shot, however, reports have stated that a car windscreen at the scene has a single bullet hole at head hight level.
A man who lives near New Park Road, told the PA news agency: "The (driver) drove up New Park Road and turned up Kirkstall Gardens."A police car came down Kirkstall Gardens and crashed into him."Another police car came in behind him and they had him locked in at the bottom of Kirkstall Gardens."The car was immobile when he was shot."
