Rapper Slowthai Appears In Court Charged With Two Counts of Rape
Grammy nominated UK rapper #Slowthai has appeared in courts with the charges being two counts of rape. The rapper, who's real name is Tyron Frampton, appeared at Oxfordshire magistrates court via video earlier today being charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without having consent during September 2021. The artist spoke only to confirm his real name, date of birth, and his address, and was further bailed and will appear before Oxford crown court on June 16th. The prosecution lawyer Adam Yar Khan told the magistrates that the charge of rape was an indictable only offence and the case must be heard at crown court.
The rapper who hails from Northampton was nominated for best dance recording at the Grammy awards in 2021.
His debut album, which went by the name 'Nothing Great About Britain' was nominated for the Mercury prize in 2019 and also reached the Top 10 in the charts. Two years later his second album," Tyron" became a number 1 album in the UK.
He is currently dating the musician Anne-Marie, she confirmed their relationship during a TikTok video where she filmed herself sat in the back of a car whilst singing along to a song of his as she showed him sat next to her.
The rapper has since posted an update on his instagram feed, denying all charges and urging fans to continue supporting through this difficult time.
