Recessland, a popular day music festival and renowned as a “staple” of black British culture and music, was formed with the mission to “create an outstanding party that featured all the popular black music genres”.
This years Recessland was held yesterday (26th May) at Dreamland, Margate with the doors opening and closing from 1PM to 5PM. The event consisted of free skating, ride tickets and food available for purchase aswell as other small activities.
Recessland was proven to be successful, as attendees shared how enjoyable and fun the event was on social media, however things made a quick turnaround as the aftermath was truly chaotic.
Recessland was seen to have ended roughly around 23:00PM giving attendees thirty minutes to catch the last train to London at 23:30PM from Margate train station.
Videos have been released showcasing large amounts of people packed inside the train station pushing and shoving one another in hopes to get through the train barricades to catch the last available train.
Police officers were seen trying to maintain order during the chaos in the circulating videos. In these circulated videos, attendees are also seen jumping over gates, running on platforms into rail tracks and even banging on the train to open from the outside.
