Following the shooting of a prominent Black Lives Matter activist; Sasha Johnson, an 18 year old man by the name of Cameron Deriggs was charged in connection to the case.

Along with five other men, Mr. Deriggs was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder and other charges. However, the other four were released on bail and will appear in court next month.
Ms. Johnson, a mother of two was shot at a party and sustained severe injuries to the head which she is now battling in hospital.
She had been a leading figure in the UK's Black Live Matter movement as well as a member of the Taking the Initiative Party's executive leadership committee.
In a statement released by her party, she was described as a; "strong, powerful voice for our people and our community". Her party also said that she had received numerous death threats prior to her shooting.
