Two Men Have Died Following a Shooting in Brixton

Two men have died following a shooting in Brixton on Sunday evening.

Police were called at 19:50 GMT to Railton Road in Brixton on Sunday, where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

It is claimed that 12 shots were heard by witnesses at the time of the incident. Sebastian Morrison, who lives nearby, informed MyLondon that "fire exchanged between a pair on a moped and people in a car."

The victims of this incident have not been formally identified, however, Drill rapper Perm, who is the son of boxer Dean Whyte and nephew of boxer Dillian Whyte, has been voiced as one of the victims by his family.

Forensic officers have been seen combing the street all night to find evidence.

Police officers, firearm officers, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the scene on Sunday and a number of roads in the area have been cornered off.

Helen Hayes, MP for Dulwich and West Norwood, tweeted her condolences for the family and stated she was "horrified to hear two people have been murdered in a shooting".

She continued: "My thoughts are with their loved ones about to hear the worst possible news & all who witnessed this violence in our community."

The shooting comes just days after two men were shot dead in east London, with a third man being left injured. However, there is no suggestion that the two shootings are connected.
