UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT STATES ISRAEL-GAZA CONFLICT IS "TAKING AWAY THE FOCUS" FROM RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the Israel-Gaza conflict is “taking away the focus” from the situation in Ukraine.

Zelensky stated that Russia had deliberately aimed for this outcome when it initiated a large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. He additionally denies claims of a stalemate in the Ukrainian conflict, despite recent assessments made by the nation's highest military authority.

He stated that Russia had such an aim when it launched a full-scale invasion in February 2022. He refuted the notion fighting in Ukraine had reached a standstill, despite this being the opinion of the country's top military leader. Ukraine's efforts in the southern region have achieved limited progress, causing concerns about war weariness among Western allies. T

Suggesting that some governments are becoming less eager to supply Ukraine with advanced weapons and financial support. Zelensky made these remarks during a recent briefing in Kyiv while hosting European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Mr Zelensky states: "It's clear that the war in the Middle East is taking away the focus" from Ukraine. He continues, Russia wanted this focus to be "weakened," but stressed that "everything is in our powers."

Mr. Zelensky also dismissed media claims that there was an increasing push for him to contemplate talks with Russia. "Today, no-one among EU, US leaders and others - our partners - is putting pressure for us to now sit down to negotiate with Russia and give away something to it. This will not happen."
