A lady in Northern Ireland has been given �90,000 after her boss slapped her bottom in a meeting last year 

A woman has received £90,000 in compensation after her boss slapped her bottom in a staff meeting. According to Sky News, the incident took place last year in Northern Ireland. A male manger asked the lady to stand up and turn around during the meeting.

After slapping her bottom, he laughed: "I'm sorry, I had to."The lady, who has not been named, turned to another male manger and asked: "Is that allowed?" However, he reportedly treated the moment like a joke also, telling other members of the team as they arrived in the room .After the incident, the lady said that she felt embarrassed to tell her mother and boyfriend.

She also refused to go back to work until the matter had been sorted.The woman was offered to go for lunch with a senior member of staff and the male manager, but she turned it down due to believing it wasn't appropriate. Despite the lady raising the issue with her employer, it took them 10 days to respond and five weeks to investigate .While the manager ended up resigning, the employer accused the woman of dressing and acting provocatively.

After denying and appealing against the conclusion, the woman resigned .Head of the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI),Geraldine McGahey, called the case "shocking" and that it illustrated a "toxic laddish culture that shows scant respect for female colleagues".
