Beauty influencer Nakita Johnson has taken to TikTok to share her traumatic experience of physical assault.
Johnson stated she was on her way to the gym when the incident occurred in Westfield shopping centre Stratford on 13 March last year.
Nakita stated that she is normally more cautious and dressed down with her face covered when going to the gym due to the busy nature of the area, however, on this occasion her face could clearly be seen.
Nakita had her headphones in and was internally saying a prayer when she entered an elevator, unaware of the woman who was soon to target her.
Inside the elevator, the woman allegedly approached Nakita speaking "jibberish".
Although Nakita's first thought was to compliment the woman on her beauty, the woman appeared to have ill intentions.
Nakita informed the woman that she could not understand what she was saying and that she was in the middle of prayer.
Once Nakita removed her earphones, the woman, who was smoking at the time, allegedly threatened to put her cigarette out on Nakita's face.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Nakita claimed to have fled to escape the situation, cautiously avoiding the escalators that she would normally use.
The woman, who had followed Nakita, hit her on the back of the head before saying "Nakita Johnson, stay the f*ck away from my family".
Although security managed to catch the woman, the police were extremely busy due to a stabbing in the area.
The woman claimed to know Nakita from church, however, Nakita had no recollection of who this woman could be. As the woman had no possessions on her, including a phone, ID, or even a bag, police were unable to identify her at the time.
Nakita claims the assault negatively impacted her physical and mental health, causing severe paranoia and weight loss. The event also momentarily prompted the influencer to question her faith and whether or not God was beside her.
In the second part of her traumatic story, Nakita reveals that on top of these struggles, she was experiencing severe dental pain and was scheduled for a dental operation.
Nakita soon turned to prayer and Bible study as a safe haven and motivation to get her through her dark times.
The police reached out on 25 March 2023 to update Nakita on the action being taken following the assault, however, she was disappointed to learn the police had not been able to identify the attacker.
The lesson Nakita has taken from this journey is to forgive and be thankful, expressing her gratitude for being alive, and even wishing her attacker well.
She acknowledged the attacker may have been going through a difficult time, and referred back to the knowledge of the attacker possessing no phone or identification on the day.
We applaud Nakita for her bravery in sharing her inspirational story and how she grew from it.
