According to Forbes magazine, TV and businesswoman Kim Kardashian West is officially a billionaire now.

Kim appeared on the World's Billionaires list for the first time Tuesday, citing her two lucrative businesses, KKW Beauty and Skims, as well as cash from "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", real estate investments and endorsement deals. Her activities and businesses saw her net worth soar from $780m (£564m) in October to $1bn (£723m) this month, the magazine reports.Kardashian West founded KKW Beauty in 2017, following the success of her half-sister Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics.

By 2018, the business had expanded into eyeshadows, concealers, lipsticks and fragrances; bringing in a whopping $100 million in revenue.She cashed in on the ownership of KKW last year when she sold 20% of the company to cosmetics conglomerate Coty for $200 million; a deal that valued the company at $1 billion.Kardashian West also owns a majority stake in closely-held Skims; which hasn�t disclosed its revenues. A source familiar with Skims told Forbes about a transaction that values the shapewear company north of $500 million.The rest of Kardashian West�s fortune sits in cash and investments, including real estate.

Inflated accounts?

Kim's younger sister; Kylie was stripped of her billionaire status by Forbes in June 2020. This was after they alleged that Kylie made up much of her business's background.In an article titled "Kylie Jenner's Web Of Lies", they claimed that she made up and inflated the success of her business for years.However Kylie hit back at the magazine saying "she never asked for billionaire status"."

Period", she wrote on her twitter.Kylie's case with forbes raises the question as to whether Kim is a legitimate billionaire or; just like her sister, has inflated her accounts.
