Mason Greenwood remains on Man Utd squad list amidst suspension

Mason Greenwood, a 20-year-old Manchester United forward, who was suspended following accusations of sexual assault and threat to murder is included on the official Man Utd Squad 2022/23 list.

Greenwood was arrested in late January for alleged rape, assault and a threat to kill former girlfriend,  Harriet Robson.

The former Man United under-21 player was released on bail which has been extended.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: 'As the outcome of bail reviews does not impact the progression of investigations, Greater Manchester Police will not be providing any further updates in relation to this case until the suspect is charged or released facing no further action.'

The former England player has been included on the club's list of Under-21 players eligible to feature in the Premier League this season however, this does not signal a change in his circumstances to being on the squad.

Greenwood has not been included in the Europa League 2022 Squad.

Further, Greenwood's player profile has remained online since the incident and his arrest however, Man Utd has blocked fans from buying his personalised shirts and No 11 on the back.

A club spokesperson added: "There has been no change whatsoever in Mason's status, "We removed his profile from the club app soon after he was removed from the squad in January."

In addition, Greenwood's Nike sponsorship has been scrapped and his removal from his active squads on Fifa 22.

Despite the suspension, United are contractually bound to pay Greenwood's "75,000-a-week salary.
