PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE DONATE TO PECKHAM FOODBANK AFTER £3K STOLEN IN BREAK-IN

PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE DONATE TO PECKHAM FOODBANK AFTER £3K STOLEN IN BREAK-IN

Thieves recently broke into Southwark Foodbank in London, making off with laptops and essential hygiene parcels worth £3,000. The raid, which happened overnight, left the food bank—run by Pecan in Peckham—struggling to help hundreds of families who rely on their services.

However, the Prince and Princess of Wales stepped in with a generous donation to help the food bank recover.

In response, the food bank tweeted their thanks, saying, “A huge thank you to @Kensingtonroyal for their donation after the theft of £3k worth of food supplies.”

Volunteers discovered the break-in on Monday morning and described it as a real setback. Along with the stolen supplies, the charity now has to cover £600 in repairs.

Police are looking into the incident and checking CCTV footage of the thieves forcing their way in. Despite this, the royal couple’s donation is just one of many gestures of support that have been pouring in from all over, with the food bank saying their shelves are starting to be restocked.

Interestingly, this donation comes right after Kate, the Princess of Wales, shared in a video that she has completed a course of preventative chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis.

She’s hopeful to resume some public appearances by the end of the year.

The donation has been met with mixed reactions. On one hand, onlookers are happy about the royals’ choice to further involve themselves in the community. However, others are questioning the amount William and Kate chose to spare, wondering whether the couple should have gifted due to their considerable income.
