Quavo and Saweetie have taken to Twitter to confirm their breakup, which had been speculated for the past few days after the pair unfollowed eachother on Instagram. Saweetie later recieved backlash for appearing in her ex-boyfriend's show 'Respectfully Justin', where she made multiple references to "liars", but never confirmed who she was taking about specifically.
The rumours were confirmed to be true when Saweetie took to her Twitter to address the situation and said: "I'm single. I've endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don't band aid scars and the love isn't real when the intimacy is given to to other women".
Saweetie's comments certainly shook the internet, as it hinted that Quavo may have cheated on her. However, Quavo swiftly took to his Twitter to defend his name and said:"I know you want to make this into a show so I'll play my part just this one time. I don't normally put my business out there, especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives""I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best" In response to Quavo's last tweet, Saweetie replied "Take care."
The Internet has had a mixed response to the matter. Saweetie was on the back end of the criticism after appearing on the show with Justin Combs, and Quavo is now receiving criticism for his alleged cheating.
The situation even caught the attention of UK Rapper, Chip. He took to his Snapchat to share a message in response to Saweetie, but directed his words to all women."Women don't degrade yourself after a break up. Keep it true to your self. If u was a th*t before go back to that. If you was an Empress before go back to that. Don't turn into the partner you left"
