Singer Mario Barrett, British artist Stefflon Don and his hair loss doctor were among those who provided character references for him in order to get some leniency at his trial.
They described him as a “remarkable character”, and claimed to have “never seen him act out to hurt someone” subsequently pleading with the judge for leniency.
In a reportedly unsealed letter shared on social media, the rapper (real name Stephanie Allen) expressed that she was “deeply saddened by the incident that led to Tory’s conviction.”
Steff, who collaborated with Lanez on the ‘Senseless (Remix)’ in 2018, added: “I genuinely believe it was an isolated mistake that does not define who he is as a person.”
It comes after singer Iggy Azalea's letter was also revealed in which she told the judge she “speaks to Lanez constantly” and that the rapper set up a nightly prayer group with his fellow inmates in jail ahead of his sentencing.
Canadian musician Lanez, real name is Daystar Peterson, shot his ex-lover hip hop star Megan in the feet during a drunken argument after a pool party at Kylie Jenner's house in 2020.
The incident sparked outrage among fans on social media with some in support of Lanez and many more in support of Meghan.
The 36 year old rapper initially refuted the claims but was later forced to admit due to mounting evidence and a subsequent conviction.
He is set to be put 10 years behind bars.
