American rapper DMX, born Earl Simmons is reportedly in "grave condition" after suffering from a drug overdose.

Close sources have claimed that the overdose occured at his home at around 11pm. It is said to have triggered his heart attack and he is currently in hospital.After being rushed to the critical care unit in white plains, TMZ reports that he has some "brain inactivity" and he is in a vegetative state.

Doctors have cautioned he may not make it.Sadly, the musician has a history of substance abuse and has been to rehab multiple times already.The father-of-15 has also served jail sentences in the past on charges including; animal cruelty, reckless driving, drug possession and weapons possession.

In 2018 he made headlines by playing one of his own songs to a judge in courtwhen he was facing charges of tax fraud. After listening to the song, the judge said DMX was a "good man" and gave him one year in prison.In a career spanning more than 20 years, the rapper has collaborated with numerous major artists such as; Jay Z, Ja Rule and many others. He has also made appearances in a number of films, including; Cradle 2 the Grave and Romeo Must Die, both starring Jet Li.
