American podcaster and internet personality DJ Akademiks is being sued for alleged rape, sexual assault, and defamation.
The lawsuit was filed by a woman named Fauziya "Ziya" Abashe, who dated the online personality after meeting him in 2021.
Abashe alleges that Akademiks, whose real name is Livingston Allen, invited her to his New Jersey home on July 16th 2022, where she was allegedly assaulted.
Abashe claims that although the pair had not seen one another in nearly a year, she suspected no "ill intentions" from Allen.
The lawsuit details that when Abashe arrived at Allen's home, she was met by two men (identified as John Doe 1 and 2) whom she was unaware would be there.
She then claims the two men plied her with alcohol and spiked one of her drinks before assaulting and raping her on Allen's pool deck.
The lawsuit claims Abashe's memory was "impacted" by the drugs, which also "caused her to lose consciousness".
She claims to have awoken in a bedroom at around 4 am to Allen "pulling her hair, prying open her legs, and brutally raping her,”.
She also accuses Allen of both anally and vaginally penetrating her as she was "begging" him to stop and crying throughout the alleged assault.
According to the lawsuit, Abashe questioned Allen the following day about what had happened the night before, as she did not remember.
She claims Allen gestured to a bin with two condom wrappers, which led Abashe to believe it was the John Does who had "taken her into another room in the house and continued to rape her brutally."
Allen also allegedly showed Abashe CCTV footage of the pool-deck attack, in which the lawsuit states: "According to Ms. Abashe, as she watched the video, she looked like she was just lying there lifeless, which did not sit right with her,"
Text messages included in the lawsuit, which were sent on July 17th, showed that Allen had allegedly told Abashe to "get tested", suggesting he would do the same.
Abashe claimed to have found the text message "odd", arguing that it was proof that Allen, "who had not slept with Ms. Abashe for over a year, engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse" with Abashe on the night she visited.
DJ Akademiks has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
