In a tragic incident that rocked northwest London, Michelle Sadio, 46, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting outside a church in Harlesden on Saturday night. The shocking attack, which took place around 9:15 PM on Gifford Road, left two men in their 30s injured, with one in critical condition.
Police officers and ambulance crews rushed to the scene, but despite the paramedics’ best efforts, Ms. Sadio was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident unfolded during a wake being held at the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church. Witnesses described scenes of “pandemonium” as gunfire erupted, with people running for safety inside the church.
Pastor Lawrence Larbie, who was present, recounted how mourners fled in fear, shouting that there had been a shooting. The attack left the community devastated and searching for answers. One neighbor expressed their disbelief, stating, “You are invited to attend the wake, and you end up deceased. It was pandemonium in the building. They came with very deadly, evil intentions to cause death.”
Forensics teams cordoned off the area on Sunday as detectives worked to gather evidence, though no arrests have been made at this time. The police are continuing their investigation, and residents are calling for peace and justice in their community.
This senseless act of violence has left the Harlesden community mourning the loss of a beloved woman and fearful for their safety. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
