According to The Sun newspaper, it has been reported that Grealish's family were in the house while he was away playing for City at Everton when it happened on Wednesday, 27 December. A gang of burglars ransacked the Premiere leagues £5.6 Million mansion and stole jewellery worth over 1 Million.

During the raid his family and fiancée Sasha Attwood were reportedly watching the game at his home when they heard noises upstairs. The former Aston Villa player's relatives were forced to hide and pressed a panic alarm alerting police to the alleged break-in.

The Sun newspaper received an exclusive by an insider source who told them: "The family are really shaken" and they "Initially, they feared they could be facing a hostage situation or worse."

The source added: "They executed their raid when the Manchester City were playing live on TV and all of his family had gathered downstairs to cheer him on.

"No one was injured but there was a lot o panic- everyone was terrified as they were all so vulnerable.

"Its an enormous property, so it is understable why no-one heard anything at first.

" It was also the first time the family had visited and so they were unfamiliar with the property.

Currently no arrests have been made at this time and the enquiries are still ongoing.
