KREPT & KONAN OPEN SUPERMARKET 'SAVEWAYS' FOR ETHNIC COMMUNITIES IN CROYDON

South London’s own Krept & Konan are making waves outside of music with the launch of Saveways, a groundbreaking supermarket designed to serve the unique needs of Croydon’s diverse black, Asian, and ethnic communities.

Located on Beddington Lane, Saveways occupies 15,000 sq ft of retail space and aims to provide an extensive, modern shopping experience. The store promises high-quality halal produce, world foods, fresh and frozen fish, and an in-house bakery. Alongside this, Saveways offers a full range of tinned, ambient, chilled, hair and beauty, and household products, catering to the specific preferences of its customer base.

The co-founders, including hospitality entrepreneur Kaysor Ali, have deep ties to south London and identified a gap in the local market. According to Saveways, Croydon has been underserved by small convenience stores that often lack variety, cleanliness, parking, and fair pricing. Saveways seeks to address these shortcomings by bringing everything under one roof in a sleek, professional, and affordable retail environment.

The store includes self-serve scanners from NCR Voyix and parking for 30 vehicles, enhancing customer convenience. It also supports online ordering, click & collect, and grocery deliveries through Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat.

In addition to serving households, Saveways operates a wholesale service for local restaurants and takeaways. The supermarket has secured exclusive UK distribution agreements with Martin’s Potato Rolls and supply deals with major brands like Heinz and McCain.

Krept & Konan’s venture demonstrates their ambition to uplift their community, creating a one-stop shopping destination that combines affordability, variety, and convenience. As Saveways opens its doors, it promises to redefine the ethnic grocery shopping experience in south London.
