Three-time Olympic sprinting champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce reminded the world why she’s one of the fastest women to ever grace the track—this time by effortlessly beating the competition at her son’s school sports day. The Jamaican sprint icon, affectionately known as the “Pocket Rocket,” took part in a parents' 100m dash to support her seven-year-old son, Zyon. But what began as a lighthearted school event quickly went viral.

Fraser-Pryce, whose personal best of 10.60 seconds ranks her as the third-fastest woman in history—only trailing behind Florence Griffith-Joyner and Elaine Thompson-Herah—easily left the other parents in the dust. The 37-year-old is a ten-time world champion across the 100m, 200m, and relay events. She most recently claimed gold at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon. She added a bronze and two silvers to her collection at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest and has her sights set on more medals at the upcoming Tokyo meet this September.

Social media was quick to react after Fraser-Pryce's school sport's day run went viral, with The Shade Borough’s Instagram comments lighting up with reactions from our amused Residents. "It’s everyone entering the race in hopes to come second, for me," one Resident joked. "Why did they even bother to compete?" another wondered.
"If I was one of those parents, I would’ve just sat this one out," a third commented.
