Aitch breaks his silence on his feud with Central Cee, addresses the BRITs diss, and fires shots at Corteiz founder Clint Ogbenna. Here’s everything you missed.
Earlier this year, two of UK rap’s biggest names — Central Cee and Aitch — locked horns in a spicy feud that spilled all over social media, stirred up stan wars, and birthed a pair of diss tracks that had the streets talking.
Now, after months of silence, Manchester rapper Aitch has finally addressed the drama in his latest sit-down on Thoughts In A Culli — and yes, shots were fired (again).
It all kicked off when West London’s Central Cee, aka Cench (real name Oakley Neil Caesar-Su), dropped his debut studio album Can’t Rush Greatness in January. The highly anticipated project featured heavyweights like 21 Savage and Lil Durk, slick production, and even a jazzy saxophone solo (Track 7, we see you) — but one moment had everyone locked in: a not-so-subtle diss aimed at Aitch.
On the track ‘5 Star’, Cench vented about losing to Aitch at the BRIT Awards, spitting:
“I felt like a p—k when I went to the BRITs and they gave the award to a guy called Aitch. I had my acceptance speech prepared like, ‘Long live F’s,’ I’m goin’ insane.”
For context, Aitch beat out Central Cee, Dave, Loyle Carner, and Stormzy to win the 2023 BRIT Award for Best Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act — a major W that clearly left a mark on Cench.
But Aitch didn’t take the jab lightly. The same day the album dropped, he clapped back with his own diss. In it, he accused Central Cee of having a ghostwriter, made references to his ethnicity, and dismissed the BRITs diss as bitter energy:
“Little boy is just there to be spun, gettin’ mad at the BRITs, there’s bare to be won… Bringin’ the BRITs up two years later, f— my life, you should go live yours.”
Things went quiet after the initial back-and-forth — until now.
In his Thoughts In A Culli interview, Aitch didn’t just revisit the Cench drama, he also called out British-Nigerian designer Clint Ogbenna, founder of London-based streetwear brand Corteiz (CRTZ). According to Aitch, Clint shaded his BRITs win with a now-deleted tweet comparing it to “Macklemore winning a Grammy over Jay-Z and Kanye” — an apparent dig that still doesn’t sit right with Aitch.
He fired back in the interview, calling Clint an “insecure little boy” and questioning the timing of the comment:
“The BRIT was three years ago. So what is it that’s made you tweet about me now?”
Aitch also addressed the elephant in the room — the narrative that he benefitted from “white privilege” in the industry, flipping the script on those backing Central Cee:
“You’re going on like I’ve got this big massive white privileged card. Like my man [Cench], who you’re rooting for, hasn’t got the same card.”
With tensions simmering and lines still being drawn behind the scenes, one thing’s clear the beef might’ve cooled down publicly, but these bars still come with heat. Whether this was closure or round two loading… only time will tell.
