Sean 'Diddy' Combs Issues Apology Following Shocking Video of Assault on Ex-Girlfriend Cassie Ventura

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has addressed the public after a disturbing video of him assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, surfaced this week. The 54-year-old rapper took to Instagram on this afternoon to express his remorse, stating, "I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses."

In the video, Diddy appears visibly distressed as he reflects on his past actions. Looking directly into the camera, he says: "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f***ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I am committed to being a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness, I'm truly sorry."

The surveillance footage that emerged this week, obtained by CNN, shows a chilling scene from a 2016 incident at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. In the video, a shirtless Diddy, with a towel wrapped around his waist, is seen chasing Cassie down the hall. As she attempts to enter an elevator, he grabs her by the back of the head and violently slams her to the ground. The footage continues to show Diddy kicking Cassie while she lies motionless on the floor, then taking her two designer bags. He then kicks her again before dragging her back to their room by her hoodie

Cassie, in a lawsuit that has since been settled, claimed that Diddy paid the hotel $50,000 for the footage following the brutal attack.

This apology marks the first time Diddy has spoken publicly about the incident.
