US news outlet CNN have released exclusive footage of Sean Combs better known by his stage name P.Diddy physically assaulting his former girlfriend Cassie at a hotel, in 2016.
The beginning of the video, appears to show Cassie attempting to make a stealth escape from her abusive former boyfriend, as she hurried to the elevator in a large black hoodie. However, before she can make a safe escape, the Grammy-award-winning rapper can be seen chasing after her wearing nothing but a white towel, before launching his brutal attack.
In the widely-circulated surveillance footage, Diddy can be seen dragging, pushing and kicking Cassie, as well as pulling her by her hair, in an assault that matched details from the now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Cassie last year. In the lawsuit filed by Cassie in November 2023, Cassie made allegations which are played out almost verbatim in the video.
One particular section of the lawsuit describes the vicious attack:
‘In or around March 2016, during an FO at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, Mr. Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye.
After he fell asleep, Ms. Ventura tried to leave the hotel room, but as she exited, Mr. Combs awoke and began screaming at Ms. Ventura. He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her. He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape.’
Unsurprisingly, Cassie’s lawsuit was settled within a matter of hours after it being filed, for a reported $30 million dollars. Nonetheless, her bravery has resulted in several other career-ending accusations against the mogul coming to light. Cassie has since married and had two daughters, however other alleged victims of Diddy have stated she is not alone in the abuse she endured. The accusations against Diddy range from murder to sodomy and don’t appear to be going away anytime soon. The disgraced artist is yet to comment on the video as is his victim Cassie, however her lawyer Douglas H. Wigdor issued the following statement:
“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
