WHY BRITISH SOCIAL MEDIA HAS SPENT THE WEEK REMINISCING ON ITS FUNNIEST VIRAL MOMENTS?

Earlier this week, a viral tweet from @missfeven sparked a massive wave of responses from X users, prompting them to share their favourite Black British memes that live in their heads rent-free. But now, she's raised the bar with her latest edition of the question, focusing on which viral Fiat 500 moments occupy people's minds.

Man In Wheelie Bin -

The man in the wheelie bin is a truly relatable reference to lockdown culture. The video shows a man being questioned for his decision to sit in a wheelie bin filled with water whilst sipping on a cocktail. The man defends his wheelie bin antics stating that it is 40 degrees outside and that he is "swimming". After more probing by the camera man, the bin swimmer becomes irate and threatens to fight the man. However, this immediately backfires when the bin comedically tips over just as he's about to take a swing at the cameraman.

"I've Got Nothing Left!"

This iconic meme originates from an episode of Eastenders where a distraught Ian Beale is confiding in Phil Mitchell following the murder of his daughter, Lucy. Although this was intended to be a raw and emotional scene, fans couldn't help but giggle at actor Adam Woodyatt's dramatic delivery of the line, followed by hysterical sobbing. It goes without saying that this scene belongs in the Fiat 500 hall of fame.

"You Are A Liyerrrrrrr"

We can't forget this pivotal moment from Love Island season 8 where Davide loses his patience with partner Ekin-Su and spouts the line "You are a liar, actress...go the f*ck out". What adds to the humour of the scene is Davide's thick Italian which makes the harsh words cut just a little bit deeper. Although this entire season was filled to the brim with meme-worthy content, this one takes the cake.

"You're Cooking In a Burnt Pan You D*ck!"

There is truly an abundance of Gordon Ramsay memes, and it's debatable which one reigns supreme. But there's something about the defeat in his eyes when he delivers this iconic line that truly hits the funny bone. The foul-mouthed chef is known for his brutal one-liners and insults, but there is a slight element of heartbreak in his tone of voice during this scene that just makes it extremely funny.

"I Was Coming Back Here To Tell You I Loved You!"

This extremely quotable line by Amy Hart from Love Island season 5 lives rent-free in our heads for sure. The Disney lover, rightfully so, laid into her partner, Curtis, after she found out he had been rather naughty in Casa Amor. All Amy wanted was a fairytale romance and instead, she got a whole sh*t show. What makes this scene extra amusing is that it was the first moment Love Island fans saw Amy lose her temper, and Curtis who was on the receiving end, seemed hilariously unphased.

"What A Sad Little Life Jane..."

What screams Fiat 500 culture more than this clip? The brutal rant from Channel 4's Come Dine With Me is likely to be known verbatim by 9/10 Brits. He goes on to rub salt in the wound by telling winner Jane that she has the "grace of a reversing dump truck with no tires on" before telling her to get off his property.

"Lookattarrrr"

It wouldn't be a good British meme dump without bringing out this hilarious clip from the Jeremy Kyle show. A disgruntled ex-girlfriend is shown who her old boo is now dating, to which she responds with "lukatar!" Jeremy has to ask her to repeat it a few times before he realises she's trying to say "look at her". The delivery of this quote is what really gets the audience laughing.

Mysterious Girl

The moment when a duo named Ant and Seb auditioned for X Factor will never not be funny. And their rendition of Peter Andre's "Mysterious Girl" will be the only version we will ever sing from now on. What makes this clip so iconic is how seriously the Welsh duo take their roles, from the way Ant eagerly tries to serenade the panel, to Seb's hilarious Jafakan adlibs.

"Disgustang!"

When these two little girls started their video with "we're going to sing Cher Lloyd by Cher Lloyd" we weren't quite sure what to expect. But the real star of the video was their Scottish mother who bursts into the room accusing one of the girls of not flushing the toilet after a number two. She then finishes the rant by yelling "disgustang!".

"BALEGDEH"

This viral moment truly takes the crown as the BEST viral UK moment. When Jesy Nelson of Little Mix was asked to attempt a Jamaican accent, she pauses awkwardly. As viewers eagerly listened out for the stereotypical "Beer can!" phrase, we were left GAGGED by what escaped her mouth. Her face contorts as she screams "BALEGDEH" and ever since then, we've never been able to un-see it.

As British social media users continue to reminisce on these unforgettable moments, it's clear that humour remains a powerful force in bringing people together and brightening even the darkest of days.
