With the demand for live music being stronger than ever, the UK concert calendar is absolutely stacked this year - with several notable favourites returning to tour the country.
This is also the year that many renowned global artists - such as Usher and J-Lo - are planning on releasing their long-awaited new albums.
Here’s a look at 7 artists making a comeback in 2024:
Perhaps the most consistently great grime artist of the last 20 years, Skepta’s place at the top of UK music has always been assured - even if he’s been absent for a while.
At the start of January 2024, the artist shared that he would be releasing his long-awaited sixth studio album, titled Knife & Fork. The album will mark Skepta’s first LP release in five years, and his return will no doubt be followed by live show announcements.
Writing on Instagram about the new album, the rapper said: “It’s been years since I dropped my last album and I want to thank you for all the love during my hiatus. I’ve seen the messages, tweets and Tik Toks, I’m truly grateful that my music is still resonating with the world, even in my absence.”
As well as the album announcement, Skepta also shared his new single, ’Gas Me Up (Diligent)’, in January.
J-Lo recently announced that her highly anticipated ninth album, This Is Me…Now, would be released in February 2024, marking a major comeback for the R&B superstar.
With a career spanning over two decades, Ms Lopez has solidified her status in music, as well as becoming a bona fide cultural icon. Her incredible live shows, head-turning fashion statements, and public persona have all helped her maintain a strong grip on the entertainment world.
J-Lo’s new album will be her first solo studio album in 10 years, following on from 2014’s A.K.A. The album comes after several notable moments in Jennifer Lopez’s recent career, including her appearance alongside Shakira at the Super Bowl in 2020.
Fans can expect big things from her this year.
Renowned R&B sensation Usher is already getting set to take the world by storm in early 2024.
The ‘Yeah!’ hitmaker has announced that he’ll be releasing his new album, Coming Home, on Friday, February 9th, of this year. And to cap off what is sure to be one of the busiest weekends of his life, he has also been confirmed as the headline act for the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show two days later.
Over the last 30 years, Usher has helped redefine the meaning of R&B music. 2024 is set to be the year when he cements his legacy as one of the biggest music acts on the planet.
Rapper and producer Kanye West has made endless headlines in recent years for all types of controversies, with the Chicago artist being accused of making anti-semitic remarks, voicing extremist views, and being embroiled in other issues following the very public breakdown of his marriage with Kim Kardashian.
But despite everything he does, Yeezy’s groundbreaking music - including acclaimed albums like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and The College Dropout - has always ensured that he has a strong listenership when it comes to releasing new material.
In August 2023, West there were reports that Kanye was in the process of recording his eleventh studio album. After several delays, it was announced that he would be releasing the album, Vultures, in January 2024. Vultures will be a collaborative album with fellow rapper Ty Dolla Sign.
Known for his gritty, introspective lyrics and his intricate, unique flow, British-American rapper 21 Savage has risen to be one of the top artists in the game right now.
He gained widespread recognition for his mixtapes and collaborations with other prominent artists, before achieving mainstream success with his debut album, Issa Album, in 2017.
21 Savage is set to return to the forefront of music in 2024. At the start of the year, he announced that he’d been working on a biopic about his life, called American Dream: The 21 Savage Story. He also announced the release of his third solo album, also called American Dream, in January.
This is the rapper’s first solo album in almost five years, following on from 2018’s I Am > I Was.
Fans had been waiting to eat a long time - and 21 Savage chose 2024 as the year when he fed them.
Dua Lipa first turned heads all the way back in 2017, following the release of hit singles like ‘New Rules’ and ‘IDGAF’.
Since then, she’s been in the limelight as both a chart-topping pop star and as a fashion and beauty icon. In 2020, she broke all kinds of records and became a truly global superstar after the release of her second album, Future Nostalgia.
In the years since then, there has been a lot of talk about when fans might get DL Album No. 3 - and the English-Albanian artist has always kept us guessing.
However, Dua Lipa released her latest single, ‘Houdini’, in late 2023, meaning that there is a lot of speculation that she’ll be bringing out plenty more new tracks in 2024.
