A dress worn by the late Amy Winehouse during her last ever live performance has sold for more than $180,000 at an auction.
In the US, more than 800 items from the late singer's estate raised more than £3 million for charity. These items included designer clothing, handwritten notes and accessories. All of the proceeds will go to the foundation Winehouse's parents set up to honour her memory. The foundation helps young people suffering from addiction.
The halter mini dress, which was designed by stylist Naomi Parry, was worn by Winehouse during her last live show in Belgrade, Serbia. The crowd had booed Winehouse off of the stage after appearing to forget her own lyrics. Belgrade was her last stage performance before her death at the age of 27 a month later. The dress sold for 16 times more than the original estimate.
Other items were put forward for sale. A red heart-shaped Moschino bag Winehouse had brought to the 2007 Brit Awards, where she had won the British solo female artist award, fetched £152,000. Pairs of pink ballet slippers sold between £9000-£14,000. A metal street sign which reads "Camden Square" and has inscribed handwritten notes paying tribute to Winehouse also fetched £14,000.
