Speculations are rising that Anthony Joshua is set to accept a £15 million step-aside fee to pave the way for Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury.

The two-time world champion was outboxed by the slick Ukrainian fighter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September.

Eddie Hearn confirmed in December that Joshua had triggered his rematch clause to face Usyk for a second time but a date was yet to have been agreed.

However, the Telegraph is now reporting that he is close to accepting a big-money offer to put that on hold and allow Usyk to face Tyson Fury.

Fury's promoter Bob Arum confirmed last week that talks were ongoing over Joshua potentially stepping aside.

AJ himself has shown a willingness to move out of the way, permitting he receives a significant payoff and a guaranteed shot at the winner.

Dyllian Whyte who is also part of the equation is also set to be offered big money to step aside and will demand £5 million.

However, just as the news broke of an impending 15 million pound deal Anthony took to social media to say that there was no such deal in place.

"You know what's mad about all these interviews I see," he said in a video posted online. "I see certain interviews that quote what I said and I think to myself 'I haven't done any interviews.'"

"Where did this person get this information from? I'm hearing people say 'AJ accepts £15m to step aside.' I haven't signed a contract, I haven't seen a contract. So as it stands, stop listening until it comes from me", he urged his followers.
