It looks like Burna Boy might be the newest international baddie in town. It seemed the Afrofusion stars 2024 couldn’t get any better after earning the highest-grossing arena tour by an African artist in the US. That was until he was seen in Lagos during “Detty December” with his newest flame, US superstar Chloe Bailey. But the African Giant is no stranger to dating stars and has dated several high-profile women all over the globe (allegedly some of them at the same time).
Although the ‘Gbona’ hit-maker has been vocal about not wanting to rush into having children, it would be hard to tell from his appetite for beautiful women. In May of last year Burna Boy shared that he wanted to have a more settled lifestyle before having kids, he shared:
“When I’m settled and I can be there for my children everyday, every single minute of every day, every second…
That's just me and that's a personal thing because I feel like my kids deserve better than I got. And I got both my mum and dad so you understand?”
It’s not clear if Burna Boy has found his ‘last last’ quite yet, but here’s a look at his most notable dates to date!
Burna Boy dated UK rapper SteffLon Don on-and-off for years. The ‘16 Shots’ hit-maker is undoubtedly Burna Boy's most infamous and official relationship to date. The pair went public with their relationship in 2019 and announced their split sometime in 2021. In April 2024, rumours began to circulate that the couple had rekindled their flame after Burna Boy allegedly gifted Steftlon Don a car for her birthday. Not just any car in fact, but a Rolls Royce Cullinan, which goes for around a whopping £300,000.
US star Chloe Bailey began her career as one half of a pop star duo alongside her infamous sister Halle Bailey, before pursuing independent endeavours as a singer and actress. Burna Boy and Chloe Bailey were first romantically linked in December 2024 when she visited Lagos for "Detty December", with Burna Boy personally picking her up from the airport with a bouquet. The pair were snapped on several occasions appearing very affectionate with one another throughout the festivities, however their relationship was not confirmed until Chloe returned to Lagos earlier this month confirming rumours when they were an item when they several intimate photos of them kissing went viral on social media.
Burna Boys relationship with dancehall artist Jada Kingdom remains more of a scandal than a love story. Their relationship was first hinted at when Burna Boy referenced dancehall artist Jada Kingdom on his 2023 single "Tali I' stating he bought her a Birkin bag. Jada was then seen wearing one of his chains, which sparked rumours of a love triangle between the the pair and UK artist Steff London. Steff seemingly confirmed rumours of a love triangle on her song ‘Dat A Dat’, suggesting they were both dating Burna Boy at the same time. Whilst she didn’t name Jada explicitly in the song, during an interview with Grime Daily in 2024, Steff suggested her feud with Jada was all a big misunderstanding, stating:
"Yeah, we used to be cool. The situation that happened, I wasn’t even with him (Burna Boy). I don’t really care what he’s doing. She’s selling, he’s buying, what’s the problem?"
Burna Boy and Sophia Egbueje
A recently leaked voicenote alleged that Nigerian socialite Sophia Egbueje slept with Burna Boy and that he promised her a Lamborghini which she never received. Sophia is also rumored to be in a relationship with someone else making the situation even messier. Burna Boy responded to her claims in a vague video which he ended by saying “I no buy no-one Lamborghini”
Ghanian actress Princess Shyngle and Burna Boy dated years before his highly-publicised relationships. Shyngle revealed their past relationship when congratulating him for winning a Grammy in 2021, Burna Boy is yet to publicly confirm or deny the relationship.
