DRAKE ANNOUNCED AS THE HEADLINE ACT FOR ALL THREE DAYS OF WIRELESS FESTIVAL

DRAKE ANNOUNCED AS THE HEADLINE ACT FOR ALL THREE DAYS OF WIRELESS FESTIVAL

For the first time in Wireless history, one artist, superstar rapper Drake, will headline ALL three days of the London festival.

Since its inception in 2005, the 3-day urban music fiesta has always had different artists top the bill each night. However, this year, as the rap and hip festival celebrates its 20th edition, they have departed from tradition and recently announced that each night will feature Drake and various special guests.

The festival will kick off on Friday July 11th, with Drake appearing alongside PartyNextDoor in a joint performance. The pair recently released their long-teased joint album entitled ‘$ome $exy $ongs 4 U’ on Valentine’s Day. The album has so far been met with mixed reviews, nonetheless in true Drake fashion broke Apple Music records for the biggest R&B/soul album in their history by first-day streams worldwide. Friday will also feature a performance by Drake’s special guest neo-RnB royalty Summer Walker.

Day 2 (Saturday July 12th) crowds of up to 50,000 music fans will see Drake appear alongside an act teased as ‘The Mandem’. Wireless have not yet indicated which UK artists this could possibly include, however Drake’s close ties to the UK music industry gives us a pretty decent guest. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Skepta, Boy Better Know, Giggs, J Hus or Central Cee up on stage with him.

The announcement of the festival's Day 3 showrunners has already put music fans across the globe in a frenzy. Not only is Sunday (July 13th) the only day Drake actually tops the bill by himself but his two special guests are a duo most people could have only dreamed of. Africa’s highest earning music artist Burna Boy and Jamaica’s returning legend Vybz Kartel will each perform as Drakes special guests; a dancehall and Afrofusion back-to-back bonanza!

The festival will return to its infamous Finsbury Park location and tickets go on general sale on February 19th at 12pm.
