Speaking to BBC Radio London, Ed Sheeran revealed plans to plant "as many trees as possible" to offset his carbon footprint as a touring artist.
The 30-year-old said he was buying land to rewild it in order to offset the environmental impact his travelling and touring has on the planet.
"I'm trying to buy as much land as possible and plant as many trees as possible. I am trying to rewild as much of the U.K. as I can. I love my county and I love wildlife and the environment," he said.
"I think it's about finding the balance with that — and I honestly think that this next tour that I'm going on, at the end of the tour, I can't see myself going on one of them like that again."
"I feel like I am going to get my head bitten off anytime I say that, as my job is not a hugely sustainable job as I go and play in cities, but I am trying my best", he added.
The shape of you singer who lives on a 16-acre estate in Suffolk which includes a pub, recording studio, tree house and a cinema has also been rewilding some of his own property.
"I have got a massive beehive. I have this massive wildlife pond with newts in it, salamanders and there's a grass snake that lives in there and hedgehogs", he revealed during the talk show.
"The thing with sustainability and being a public figure is when people support it, suddenly people try and find things to call them out on."
However, since becoming a father to 16-month-old daughter Lyra with wife Cherry Seaborn, Ed has revealed he will be cutting down the mega tours he used to do.
"I would hate to get to 20 years time and have a relationship with my kids that had suffered because I'd chosen work over them", he said; adding that he would be away for "six weeks" in the summer or winter at most so that he would not be missing out on precious moments with his wife and child.
