Tesla CEO Elon Musk has fired back after MAGA influencer Ashley St. Clair claimed she was forced to sell her Tesla due to a dramatic cut in child support payments. In a newly surfaced video, St. Clair is seen selling her black Model S, telling MailOnline that Musk had slashed financial support for their alleged child by 60 percent. Musk, 53, responded to the claims on X, writing:“I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but I am not against finding out. No court order is needed. Despite not knowing for sure, I have given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500K/year.”
This statement contradicts St. Clair’s assertion that she was struggling financially due to Musk’s reduced payments. Speaking to a MailOnline reporter who witnessed the car sale outside her Manhattan apartment, the 26-year-old influencer explained: “I’m selling it because I need to make up for the 60 percent cut that Elon made to our son's child support.” St. Clair also claimed that she last attempted to contact Musk on February 13 but received no response. When asked whether she believed the billionaire was acting vindictively, she said, “Yeah, that’s his modus operandi when women speak out.”
The situation escalated further when, on March 14, nearly a month after St. Clair’s initial accusations, Musk’s lawyers secured a gag order from a New York judge, legally restricting her ability to speak publicly about the case. St. Clair first went public with the allegations on February 14, announcing on X that she had given birth five months earlier and that Musk was the father. “I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause,” she wrote.
She later filed a paternity and custody lawsuit in New York on February 21, alleging that Musk initially told her to keep the child a secret before cutting off communication—forcing her to go public and pursue legal action. Until now, Musk has not explicitly confirmed or denied paternity, instead posting cryptic remarks on X about the situation.
