Virginia Giuffre, who has previously accused Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse, has revealed that she is battling critical health issues following a devastating car accident. She took to Instagram to share her ordeal, stating that doctors have given her only four days to live due to kidney failure.
Giuffre posted an image of her bruised face while lying in a hospital bed, detailing the severity of her condition. She explained that the accident occurred when a school bus driver, traveling at 110 km/h, collided with her vehicle as she was slowing down for a turn. “It doesn’t matter what material your car is made of—it might as well be a tin can in that situation,” she wrote in her emotional post on Sunday.
The impact of the crash led to renal failure, and she is now being transferred to a specialist urology hospital for further treatment. Expressing her distress, Giuffre added, “I’m prepared to go, but not before I see my children one last time. But you know what they say about wishes—at the end of the day, it’s just wishful thinking.”
Giuffre gained widespread attention in 2021 when she filed a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew, alleging that Jeffrey Epstein coerced her into having sexual encounters with the royal on three separate occasions—in London, New York, and the U.S. Virgin Islands—when she was 17. She also claimed she was paid $15,000 for one such incident involving the Duke of York, who was 41 at the time.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied these allegations. According to Giuffre’s legal filings, she was allegedly forced into these encounters under implied threats from Epstein, his close associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and Prince Andrew himself. Her lawsuit contended that she feared for her safety due to their powerful influence and financial clout.
A now-infamous photograph, included in her complaint, shows Prince Andrew with his arm around a teenage Giuffre, with Maxwell standing in the background. Despite the image having surfaced years earlier, Prince Andrew told the BBC in 2019, “I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady.” In 2009, Giuffre reached a $500,000 settlement with Epstein, which included an agreement preventing her from taking legal action against any associates of the disgraced financier who might be considered a “potential defendant.” Prince Andrew’s legal team sought to dismiss Giuffre’s lawsuit based on this agreement, but the court rejected the argument.
In February 2022, the case was resolved through an undisclosed settlement. A month earlier, Buckingham Palace had stripped Prince Andrew of his military titles and his designation as “His Royal Highness.” Now facing a life-threatening medical crisis, Giuffre’s latest ordeal adds another layer to her already tumultuous journey.
