Fans are overjoyed at the possibility of former IT couple, presenter Maya Jama and rapper Stormzy, rekindling their romance.
Years after their split and any public appearance with one another, Maya was initially spotted backstage at rapper Stormzy’s headline performance, photgoraphed partaking in potentially platonic conversation with the musical star.
However, this sighting was enough for fans to start speculating their romance, and it wasn’t long until more evidence of the two rekindling began surfacing.
Just a week after the original sighting, fans were quick to put together that the two were on a romantic getaway with each other in Greece.
Maya had uploaded a series of scenic pictures from her stunning £2,700 a night holiday villa which included some unique furniture and identifiable views. It wasn’t long until fans noticed the aesthetic similarities in a recent upload on Stormzy’s TikTok account.
However, the icing on the cake was when the couple were spotted by paparazzi in Greece holding hands, undoubtedly confirming the lovebirds’ romance.
The news was positively received by fans across the world, sparking conversation about whether it was time for singletons to make amends with their favourite ex.
It has since been claimed that Stormzy’s mum, Abigail Owuo, was the matchmaker who ‘motivated’ the rapper ‘to make amends with Maya.’
A source told The Sun: 'Stormzy is really open about wanting to settle down and have kids one day and he knows Maya is "The One".'
The couple dated for four years before parting ways in 2019, with the rapper, whose real name is Michael Omari Owuo Jr, publicly declaring he has 'never loved anyone how I've loved her'.
The reason for their split was never confirmed and Stormzy always denied any infidelity in the relationship. However, the rapper did admit to learning some hard lessons about his behaviour, describing it as 'disrespectful'.
Speaking to Louis Theroux on his interview series, the rapper admitted to making mistakes during their relationship, insisting that he has since grown.
He explained: 'My break-up, that was probably the biggest catalyst for growth as a man. It was like, OK, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you.’
Maya had previously been engaged to US basketballer, Ben Simmons, before ending the engagement with no public explanation.
