American actress Keke Palmer has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-partner, Darius Jackson.
Palmer has also received full custody of their 8-month-old son, Leodis “until further notice”.
According to the California Superior Court filing, Palmer, 30, has accused Jackson, 29, of ‘physical and emotional abuse’, allegedly exhibiting violent behaviour towards her, occasionally in front of their infant.
The filing states that the most recent incident occurred on 5 November).
Palmer wrote: “Darius trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me – lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police.”
In the declaration, Palmer recounts several occasions of alleged physical and emotional abuse.
The incidents included “striking and grabbing me around the neck, descriptions of Darius destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting me in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse.”
Surveillance footage from Palmer’s property has also been released, showing a man, alleged to be Jackson, physically assaulting Palmer.
Although Darius Jackson has not commented on the restraining order nor his loss of custody to Leodis, he has since posted an image of himself and his son on X (Twitter), with a caption reading: “I love you, son. See you soon.”
Palmer is yet to speak out on the ongoing situation.
